L-3 Communications Names Curtis Brunson Senior Vice President - Corporate Strategy and Development
NEW YORK --(Business Wire)-- L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) announced today that it has named Curtis Brunson Senior Vice President - Corporate Strategy and Development for the company. In this new position, Mr. Brunson will be responsible for L-3's corporate growth initiatives, including customer relationships, technical development and business development. Mr. Brunson will report to Michael T. Strianese, President and Chief Executive Officer of L-3.
"Curtis has been with L-3 since its inception in 1997 and, as a result of his leadership, our Communication Systems-West division has been a consistent engine of growth for L-3," said Mr. Strianese. "Over the years, his division has more than tripled its business since 1997. In addition, his continued focus on new products and close customer support has led to several major achievements, including the latest breakthrough - ROVER III." This portable system provides remote, real-time reconnaissance for U.S. troops on the ground in Iraq and Afghanistan and has been deployed domestically for homeland security applications.
"As a result of his foresight and management skill, Curtis has helped L-3 enhance its relationships throughout the Department of Defense (DoD) and with various U.S. government agencies, prime defense contractors and international customers," continued Mr. Strianese. Mr. Brunson began his career in 1972 with Sperry Systems Management Division, prior to its merger into Unisys Government Services. At Unisys for over 20 years, he held several management positions of increasing responsibility. When Loral acquired Unisys Communication Systems in Salt Lake City, he was division President. That division became part of L-3 Communications during its formation in 1997 with Mr. Brunson becoming President at that time.
Mr. Brunson holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from the New York Institute of Technology and a Masters of Science Degree in Computer Science from Polytechnic Institute in Brooklyn, New York.
