ZyXEL introduces ZyWALL-2WG and ZyWALL SSL-10 security appliances


(Tele.com Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge) The ZyWALL-2WG mobile broadband security appliance has been introduced by ZyXEL Communications (ZyXEL), a provider of secure broadband networking and Internet connectivity and routing products, providing a firewall router with mobile broadband capability, for Internet access when cellular phone service is available.



ZyXEL said the ZyWALL-2WG offers integrated firewall, VPN, 802.11 for wireless LAN and broadband Internet access through 3G networks and features HSDPA/GSM/EDGE 3G support through a PCMCIA card slot. It is suitable for outdoor events, tradeshows and Internet access in buses and trains and supports WAN backup, load balancing Fail-Over and Fail-Back technologies when combined with a wired environment.

The ZyWALL-2WG offers Wi-Fi technology with dual band flexibility, with security features such as IPSEC VPN, SPI firewall and content filtering.


ZyXEL also unveiled its ZyWALL SSL-10 integrated firewall and SSL VPN appliance, which is intended for SMBs requiring simple, client-less, secure remote access to the resources on their corporate network. The appliance supports ten VPN sessions simultaneously, can be upgraded to support 25 VPN sessions and is able to improve or replace an SMB's current firewall.
