David Chamberlain Joins National Interop, Inc.

PORTLAND, Ore. --(Business Wire)-- National Interop, Inc. announced today that David Chamberlain has joined the organization as company President. In this new role at National Interop, Chamberlain will work closely with CEO David Billstrom with clients at public safety agencies as well as to drive the technical evolution of the company's Internet Protocol (IP) radio communications technology.

Chamberlain was most recently Chief Information Officer for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the world's largest charitable private foundation, where he managed the IT infrastructure. In addition, he consulted with the various Gates Foundation programs to support technology needs, including communications challenges in remote, third world locations.

Chamberlain is also the former CIO (and Acting CTO) at Disney's GO.com portal (NYSE: DIG). Prior to GO.com, he was CIO and Senior VP of Technical Operations at Infoseek (subsequently purchased by Disney), and prior to Infoseek, he was VP of Technical Operations for Starwave. Among his responsibilities, Chamberlain built and managed the technical infrastructure used to launch and operate the GO.com portal, ESPN.com, ABCNews.com, NFL.com, NBA.com, MrShowbiz and other high traffic, dynamic content Web sites, all of which gave him expertise in provisioning bandwidth and network services to handle significant daily Internet traffic.

"The National Interop team is approaching public safety agencies with a holistic systems perspective," said Chamberlain. "They are leveraging innovations in IP technology to address core public safety communications interoperability and usability challenges and are designing and implementing reliable, non-proprietary, and affordable solutions that are truly best-of-breed."

"David Chamberlain is one of the top leaders in large-scale Internet operations," said National Interop CEO David Billstrom. "He has already made a significant impact to our expanding business."
