(Corporate IT update Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge) CORPORATE IT UPDATE-(C)1995-2007 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

ATEN Technology, Inc, a provider of KVM (keyboard/video/mouse) and remote connectivity products to centrally manage servers, network devices and IT infrastructure, announced on Monday (22 January) the availability of its first rackmount LCD KVM switches with built-in IP access.

According to the company, the new KL9108/KL9116 IP LCD KVM on the NET products are available in 8- and 16-port models with a 17in display and are part of the ALTUSEN line of enterprise-class KVM solutions from ATEN. The KL9108/KL9116 units are said to provide simultaneous access for one local and one remote user via IP to control up to 16 servers and support 32 concurrent users, and through cascading, users can access up to 128 servers.

The KL9108/KL9116 was designed for medium to large server rooms and data centers at business facilities, educational environments and government facilities. The built-in independent IP ports enable administrators to access server racks and data centers from off-site locations via a web browser. In addition, for users who prefer to operate a mouse rather than the equipped touchpad, the KVM units offer an additional PS2 port to connect the peripheral, the company claims.

The new KL9108/KL9116 IP LCD KVM on the NET switches are priced at USD3195.95 and USD3495.95, respectively.
