HP Unveils Business Intelligence and Info Management Services![]() TMCnet Contributing Editor HP knows that every smoothly-running business has processes in place for streamlined decision-making and management of critical information. That’s why the company this week announced the launch of its Business Information Optimization service.
This new service offering is made up of two parts: business intelligence, and information management. These services are bundled with HP software for a complete package. To provide these services, HP formed a new business unit, HP Neoview, under its existing software division. Neoview, enhanced by HP’s recent acquisition of Knightsbridge Solutions Holding Corp., began serving customers in October.
Heading up Neoview is Ben Barnes, vice president and general manager of HP’s business intelligence group. He is tasked with overseeing the operations that help companies make more informed decisions in order to drive growth.
HP’s Business Information Optimization solutions are being continually developed by an information management group focused on devising new ways to archive and manage corporate data. The goal is to speed up archiving and retrieval of information, enhance worker productivity, and simplify security for critical data.
Thomas Hogan, senior vice president at HP’s software group, said that the newly launched unit is just the latest step in the company’s goal to establish itself as the advisor of choice to CIOs.
“We are extending our strength in optimizing the business outcomes tied to applications and technology to now include the equally important need to optimize the value of the information itself,” Hogan said in a statement. “This suite of solutions will help businesses maximize the value and impact of their IT investments spanning systems, applications, networks and information.”
