Integra5 Offers Sneak Peek of New SMS to TV Application at CES 2007BURLINGTON, Mass., Jan. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Integra5, the pioneer in enabling cable and IPTV SMS to TV further demonstrates the i5 C-SDP's leadership in seamlessly converging quad play elements -- mobile phones, landlines, TVs and PCs -- into new cross-platform services. It will also be the first service that enables SMS communications between cell phones and TVs and PCs using landline numbers. In the CES demo, booth visitors will be able to send a text message from a cell phone to a TV in a real-world, home-based scenario. The text message will be displayed on the TV and the visitor can then use the TV remote to reply to the message with pre-set responses, or to trigger a "click to call" response that initiates a call between the home landline phone and the cell phone that sent the text message. If the person sending the text message has been personalized via the i5 network address book, the SMS will be flagged with a picture and nickname of the sender on the TV screen similar to Integra5's Picture Caller ID service. "Sprint Nextel's recent joint venture with Time Warner Cable, Comcast, Cox (News - Alert) Communications and Advance/ Newhouse Communications points to exciting advances ahead in the triple and quad play arenas," said Matt Davis, director of IDC's Consumer Multiplay program. "As cable and IPTV (News - Alert) service providers blend wireless capabilities into their quad play packages, it becomes increasingly important to have flexible, network-based platforms that can deploy a wide variety of services -- quickly and seamlessly -- in response to changing consumer demands." In addition to SMS to TV, which will be available this summer, Integra5 will also demonstrate some of the company's other cross-platform applications at CES, including TV/PC Picture Caller ID and Message Waiting Indication.
