Search Giants Covet Mobile Field

(SinoCast Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge) BEIJING, Jan 05, 2007 (SinoCast via COMTEX) --Google and China Mobile officially establish strategic partnership on January 4, to jointly provide Chinese users with mobile search services and products.

Actually, Wang Jianzhou and Eric Schmidt, heads of the two giants, have begun to discuss their cooperation since the beginning of last year.

The largest mobile carrier in China has a total of 300 million users, far more than that of the Internet. Compared with the Internet, the mobile network will achieve great from ads. And to develop mobile phones as a new Internet search engine will help the Chinese giant get more revenues from data services.

At the same time, Baidu, the archrival of Google (China), is currently in talks with mobile phone producers and mobile carriers about enabling mobile phones to act as wireless search engines during the whole Internet. In other words, to cultivate itself a search giant in the mobile field, as in the Internet field.
