Voice Peering Fabric Opens at One Wilshire in Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES --(Business Wire)-- Jan. 12, 2006 -- CRG West, operator of the One Wilshire Building and Stealth Communications, today announce availability of the Voice Peering Fabric (VPF) at One Wilshire.
The VPF is a distributed Ethernet network which functions as a voice exchange, or meeting-point, for VoIP traffic. The VPF enables enterprises and service providers to establish peer-to-peer connections in a private, secure, quality-of-service environment. Going into its third year of service, VPF is located in nine U.S. cities and London, serving over 100 organizations around the world, carrying over 18 billion VoIP minutes in 2005.
"One Wilshire is one of the key points connecting the communications world together. We value our partnership with CRG West. The VPF and its community are committed to enhancing and accelerating business activities within One Wilshire," said Shrihari Pandit, CEO and Founder of Stealth Communications. "Many international carrier entry points to North America are at One Wilshire, and their participation in the VPF community has just become easier."
Since the inception of the Voice Peering Fabric in 2003, it has gained attention across different industries. VPF members trade minutes and access critical telecom database services at a fraction of existing wholesale and transit costs through the VPF Minutes Market and VPF ASP Market. The VPF ENUM Registry, housing over 10 million numbers, remains the largest production ENUM database for free call termination.
"One Wilshire is rapidly emerging as the heart of the VoIP industry," said John Savageau, senior vice president of telecom operations at CRG-West. "The VPF will contribute a powerful telecom and business utility enabling more than 100 tenant VoIP-related companies within One Wilshire to easily interconnect at local, national and international levels. The VPF is a visionary concept and will provide a strong catalyst for accelerating international development of VoIP."
Located in Downtown Los Angeles, the One Wilshire Building is one of the world's most densely interconnected buildings, supporting more than 250 U.S. domestic and international telecommunications carriers.
