Toshiba Offering Yahoo! Music Engine in Consumer Notebook Line-UpIRVINE, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- Jan. 6, 2006 -- Toshiba's Digital Products Division, a division of Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., today announced it has included the Yahoo! Music Engine in select Toshiba consumer notebooks(1) beginning this month. The Yahoo! Music Engine allows Toshiba notebook users to listen to the latest music and Internet radio. With the Yahoo! Music Engine, Toshiba notebook users will receive access to pre-programmed radio stations, 99-cent songs, the ability to import and manage a personal music collection, transfer music to portable devices and to mix and burn CDs, all in one easy-to-use package. With the addition of a Yahoo! Music Unlimited subscription service, Yahoo! Music Engine users can build personalized music libraries from a catalog of 1 million songs as well as purchase permanent downloads for 79 cents each. An annual subscription to Yahoo! Music Unlimited is $4.99 per month. The Yahoo! Music Engine will be preinstalled in all future Satellite(R) and Qosmio(TM) models as well as select Tecra(R) and Portege(R) systems. Listening to music on Toshiba notebooks is enhanced by a variety of audio-quality features, with many models including harman/kardon(R) stereo speakers and SRS(R) TruSurround XT(TM) technology enabling a rich audio experience.
