[November 22, 2006] China Agri Ministry, Development Bank Support Agri Projects Tweet (SinoCast China Business Daily News Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge) BEIJING, November 23, SinoCast -- The Ministry of Agriculture and China Development Bank inked an agreement on November 21 to support the construction of new socialist countryside and work together in rural development financing in 2006-2010. They will initially support five fields including the projects and programs critical to the national grain safety strategy, rural infrastructure construction, agricultural resource development and utility, eco-environment treatment and protection in rural area, and projects using overseas lands and water resources. MOA and CDB agreed to seek innovative financing approaches in the five fields and continuously expand the range of their cooperation. The policy bank CDB is engaged in financing the infrastructure construction, environment protection and improvement, technology innovation and penetration and other projects to maintain the sustainable development in the domestic developing regions. Their cooperation will be extended to cover seven fields eventually, according to MOA's plan.
