Addmaster Introduces MJ4000 Check Scanner

MONROVIA, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- Addmaster, a manufacturer of teller receipt and validation printers for some of the nation's most prominent financial institutions, announced today the release of its smallest and most affordable check scanner to date, the MJ4000.

The compact MJ4000 scans both sides of the check, reads the MICR code and endorses the back of the check. Designed and manufactured in the United States for use at the teller line, frontline staff can quickly scan single items in approximately one second. Additionally, the MJ4000's ink jet endorser prints to the check prior to imaging, maintaining compliance with Check 21 standards. MJ4000's technology captures 200 dpi black and white images in compact file sizes.

"The MJ4000's small footprint, high reliability and ease of use makes transaction processing quick and hassle-fee at the teller station," said Hugh Clary, vice president of Addmaster. "There are a number of scanners on the market, but most are too big, bulky, and expensive for the teller line. The MJ4000 is a streamlined product at a price-point that makes teller scanning very attractive."

Addmaster has installed more than 250,000 teller printers and MICR readers in U.S. banks. The company has applied the same successful design principles to developing its scanner technology, focusing on the footprint and simplicity. The MJ4000 also boasts ink jet endorsement, USB interface and is compatible with a wide range of teller software using an industry standard API.

The company will be offering demonstrations of the MJ4000 at the Bank Administration Institute (BAI) Retail Delivery Conference & Expo, Nov. 14-16, 2006 at booth number 1345.
