Business Objects and Salesforce.com Deliver On Demand Business Intelligence![]() TMCnet Contributing Editor Business Objects recently teamed up with Salesforce.com to provide a new set of CRM reporting and dashboard tools, available on AppExchange.
Customers now can create sophisticated Crystal reports using data in their Salesforce applications, and share those reports on the Web.
Business Objects also released a Beta version of its business widgets on AppExchange. The Beta version lets users interact with Salesforce data and measure business performance.
The enhanced connectivity between crystalreports.com and salesforce.com means users can more easily and securely view and distribute Crystal reports created with Salesforce.com (News - Alert) and other data sources.
Customers can also access pre-built reports—including pipeline forecasting, sales by geography and product segmentation. Business Objects’ new business widgets for Salesforce.com help reduce the time needed to complete everyday tasks such as tracking closed revenue, looking up contacts, and spotting neglected leads.
The widgets maintain connectivity to Salesforce and therefore can be instantly refreshed with Salesforce data.
“We share a vision with Business Objects of making business information and applications available on demand to anyone, anywhere in the world,” said Marc Benioff, chairman and CEO at Salesforce.com, in a press release.
He continued: “Business Objects has a strong tradition of simplifying business intelligence and providing powerful, easy-to-use BI solutions. Our continued partnership brings the power and ease of Crystal Reports, the industry standard in reporting, to the entire on-demand salesforce.com community.”
BusinessObjects made news earlier this month when State of Alaska’s Division of Finance selected BusinessObjects XI Release 2 as its business intelligence standard to improve operational efficiency.
The Division of Finance deployed BI solution from BusinessObjects to consolidate data from a variety of sources into one, accurate version of the truth.
The agency that provides accounting, payroll, and disbursement services for state government also selected Business Objects Enterprise Information Management (EIM) solutions to ensure data consistency and accuracy.
