BroadLogic Names Danial Faizullabhoy as President & CEO

SAN JOSE, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- BroadLogic Network Technologies, a supplier of groundbreaking technologies and products for wideband cable modems and video-processors for digital networks, today announced the appointment of Danial Faizullabhoy as president and CEO. With his successful track record of growing semiconductor and networking companies, Faizullabhoy will provide vision and drive the company.

Faizullabhoy comes to BroadLogic from venture capital firm Walden International where he served as a general partner. He has been the lead investor and on the board of directors in several investments at Walden International including Ikanos Communications, Infravio (acquired by WebMethods); Morphics (acquired by Infineon); and Invox (acquired by SanDisk) and Virtual Silicon Technology (acquired by Mosaid). He has also been lead investor and on the board of directors at AirTight Networks, Matisse Networks, and Sierra Atlantic.

Prior to Walden International, Faizullabhoy was vice president and general manager at Adaptec, Inc., where he had P&L responsibility for semiconductors in the peripheral and hard disk business unit. Faizullabhoy led multiple mergers and acquisitions for Adaptec, including the acquisitions of Sigmax and Skipstone, as well as the acquisition of business units from Western Digital (Hard Disk Controllers) and STMicroelectronics (Read Channel Semiconductors).

"We are delighted that Danial has joined BroadLogic," said Rachel Lam, SVP and Group Managing Director of Time Warner Investments. "The company's continued execution in developing new and innovative mixed signal semiconductor products is important to the cable industry. We look forward to working closely with BroadLogic over the next several years."

"Danial's operating skills and experience in building an early stage semiconductor company and commercially launching silicon products are critical for BroadLogic as it approaches the release of products that will likely change the dynamics of the broadband service provider industry and result in rapid growth for the company," said Lip-Bu Tan, chairman of Walden International, an investor in BroadLogic.

"As network operators rush to stake their claim in the digital living room, the winners will be those who meet the needs of an increasingly sophisticated consumer with easy-to-use, cost-effective innovation," said Faizullabhoy. "Our disruptive technologies will enable operators to do just this. They were created by some of the brightest engineering minds in the mixed signal design and video-processing industry, and continue to amaze every network operator and potential partner that sees them. I'm very excited to be part of the team that will continue to develop these technologies into market-dominating products, and help grow BroadLogic into a market leader."

Faizullabhoy graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Norwich University, Vermont, and holds an M.B.A. from Santa Clara University.
