WHAT: Internet Telephony West Conference & Expo, held since
1999, is the world's largest and best-attended IP
Communications trade show.
Covergence Panel Sessions:
-- "Migrating to VoIP" featuring Covergence's Ken
Kuenzel, CTO, VP of engineering and founder, will
present the "noise around VoIP" in clear and
understandable points so that businesses can understand
how to migrate easily and efficiently to a VoIP
platform. Discuss topics will include: Migrating
business applications, articulating disaster plans and
security, and alternatives to diving headlong into
VoIP, such as step-by-step approaches.
-- "Security in VoIP Networks" featuring Covergence's
Kurt Bertone, VP of product management, will present
the various areas of security vulnerable in typical
VoIP networks, as well as the types of threats that are
currently understood and their potential impact on both
carriers and consumers. Panelists will also address the
methods and strategies that can be used to establish an
"acceptable level" of security risk.
-- "Hosted VoIP for Service Providers: Best Practices"
featuring Rod Hodgman, VP of marketing, will focus on
how the market for hosted IP voice services is driven
in large part by small & medium-sized businesses (SMBs)
looking to update and upgrade their network and
telephony systems. Lacking the internal resources to
manage the complex IP environment, SMBs turn to service
providers for support. The session will also present
service provider best practices for hosting VoIP
infrastructures and will address topics such as
avoiding failures and minimizing downtime.
