B-Hive raises $7 million in first financing round
(Israel Business Arena Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge) Israeli start-up B-Hive Networks Inc., a developer of solutions for data center network monitoring and control, has closed its first financing round, in which it raised $7 million from Venrock Associates and Index Ventures. B-Hive raised $500,000 in seed investment from private investors a year ago.
B-Hive was co-founded in 2005 by CEO Yoav Dembak and CTO Asaf Wexler. Dembak and Wexler previously worked together at Breach Security and Gilian Technologies. B-Hive enables enterprise data centers to effectively deliver real-time transaction service level control for web-enabled applications. B-hive's products improve visibility and analysis of user transactions in the data center and optimize availability, performance and application infrastructure allocation.
B-Hive's product is a smart box that is located between data center servers and enables the network to analyze and route business transactions As a result, data center operations groups can monitor the end-user experience and optimize operations according to approved business policies.
B-Hive employs 20 people at its headquarters in San Carlos, California, and its R&D center in Herzilya. Its private investors include Reuven Agassi (son of Shai Agassi, who sold TopManage to SAP), and Benny Schnaider (who founded P-Cube and Pentacom Ltd.).
