LOS ANGELES --(Business Wire)-- Aug. 1, 2006 -- uWink, Inc. (OTCBB:UWNK), a publicly-held digital entertainment company, announced the appointment of culinary veteran Greg Schroeppel as Executive Chef. With extensive kitchen experience at such well known restaurants as SPAGO, Chinois on Main, and Granita, considerable recipe and product development experience with major chains such as A & W, Applebee's, Arby's, Arco AM/PM, Frito Lay, La Salsa, Star-Kist, and Vons, and high-profile celebrity events such as the Superbowl post party - San Diego, Maxim's post Oscar party, Renee Zellweger's Christmas party, and Melissa Etheridge's wedding, Chef Greg Schroeppel now brings all his culinary expertise to uWink.



uWink is a new restaurant concept -- a social entertainment eatery where guests can order their food, drinks, and media (think games, movie trailers, horoscopes, and other media candy) via touch screens located at their table.

For the past two years, Chef Greg Schroeppel managed a boutique hospitality consulting company, Urban Gourmet Group, where he provided concept development, menu development and engineering, kitchen layout, vendor and product sourcing, tabletop design, and project management for various restaurant clients, including: The Counter (Santa Monica), Hannah's Bistro (Las Vegas), Crustacean (Las Vegas), Tops (Pasadena), and Black Tie Catering and Events/Black Tie Daily (Culver City).

The first uWink restaurant will open soon (this summer) at the Westfield Promenade in Woodland Hills, California, located just off Topanga Canyon Blvd. and Highway 101. uWink will be located above Maggiano's Little Italy restaurant and the Corner Bakery on the north side of the mall.
