NEON Enterprise Software, Inc. Hires Database Management and Administration Expert Craig S. Mullins


SUGAR LAND, Texas --(Business Wire)-- July 11, 2006 -- NEON Enterprise Software, Inc. (NESI), the technology leader in enterprise data availability software and services, today announced the addition of renowned DB2 expert Craig S. Mullins as corporate technologist.



Mullins will serve as a corporate spokesperson and data management strategist, offering insights on both business and technical issues companies face with regard to database management and administration. As corporate technologist for NESI, Mullins will work with DB2 product teams on development projects, provide technical expertise to NESI's customers and present information at industry conferences.

Mullins brings more than two decades of experience in all facets of database systems development to his position as corporate technologist. Prior to joining NESI, Mullins served as director of technology planning at BMC Software where he was responsible for overseeing the product strategy for DB2 solutions. Mullins was also the vice president of marketing and operations at PLATINUM technology, Inc. Additionally, he worked as the research director of database administration for Gartner Group, a leading industry analyst firm.

Mullins is an experienced author and speaker, and will continue these pursuits while at NESI. He is the author of two books: DB2 Developer's Guide and Database Administration: The Complete Guide to Practices and Procedures, and has spoken to thousands of technicians about database management and administration issues at industry conferences, including: DAMA Symposium and Metadata Conference, the IBM DB2 Technical Conference, and the International DB2 Users Group (IDUG).

Mullins graduated Cum Laude from the University of Pittsburgh with a double major in computer science and economics and a minor in mathematics. He is a member of the International DB2 Users Group (IDUG) Volunteers Hall of Fame and is an IBM Gold Consultant.
