[July 03, 2006] Novell plans to double business partners Tweet (BNamericas.com Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge) US software firm Novell (Nasdaq: NOVL) expects its Latin American partners to double this year and is seeking partners specialized in Linux solutions, Reseller Web quoted Novell Latin American marketing manager Jorge Chacn as saying. Novell has 600 channel partners in the region and is currently touring Latin America with the official launch of its new collaboration suite Open Workgroup. The company expects large sales of the solution, given that rival firm Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) has delayed the launch of its solution Windows Vista. At present Novell is training resellers in Brazil in anticipation of the launch. According to Novell Latin America senior product manager Alan Hall, one of the product's competitive advantages is price.
