Reva Systems Appoints World Leader; Advance to global RFID market expansion begins with new CEO Tom Schuster

CHELMSFORD, Mass. --(Business Wire)-- June 19, 2006 -- Reva Systems, an emerging company delivering radio frequency identification (RFID) network infrastructure products that enable enterprises to scale RFID installations, today announced the appointment of Tom Schuster as the company's new CEO. The leadership change is a milestone in Reva's growth, marking both the progress of RFID worldwide and the transition of a startup company on its way to market leadership. Schuster was chosen to lead Reva in an intensifying phase of sales growth and larger global focus. Reva is already off on a strong start with premier customer installations, major partnerships and top industry awards, and today's executive appointment reflects the company's expanding horizon.

Schuster brings proven worldwide market development success with a background in networking products and network security. Schuster was previously president of Arbor Networks, an industry-leading network security appliance vendor, where he led the company's global expansion to market leadership in 30 countries. Arbor's business grew more than 100 percent annually during his four years as president. Schuster was instrumental in realizing the majority of this growth through programs and strategies that included close partnerships with major partners such as Cisco, Juniper and ISS. Prior to leading Arbor, Schuster was vice president of worldwide sales and professional services for RSA Security, where he first served as the company's London-based managing director of EMEA.

"Tom has years of experience leveraging industry relationships to execute successful market strategies and to drive sales with the largest enterprises and service providers in the world," said Ashley Stephenson, Reva's founding chief executive officer. "Both at RSA Security and at Arbor Networks, Tom Schuster has demonstrated the talent and ability to lead advanced technology companies to global commercial success, and we are very excited about Reva's prospects under his leadership."

Stephenson will remain active in day-to-day business as Reva's chairman and co-founder. Involved with the company since its start-up potential was conceived nearly three years ago, Stephenson led Reva to great success with important customer wins and prestigious industry recognition. Reva was named one of "10 Start-Ups to Watch" by Network World in 2006, and the company's Tag Acquisition Processor (TAP) recently became the first RFID product to win a "Best of Interop" award.

"Reva Systems is in an excellent position with leadership in RFID standards development and integrated enterprise network solutions," Tom Schuster said. "As reader prices tumble and system reliability achieves enterprise status, RFID is ready for swift global adoption. Reva is ideally situated to be the market leader in enterprise RFID network infrastructure, and I am excited about the opportunity to lead the company to global growth."

Reva Systems is already recognized as one of a small number of industry leaders in the development of infrastructure solutions and standards necessary for RFID to be a global success. Reva co-chairs the EPCglobal Reader Operations group with Intermec and the UHF AI Working group with Wal-Mart, in addition to its proactive involvement with other important standards development. Reva was a strong promoter of the Gen2 standard that underlies today's robust standards for RFID tag and reader performance and reliability. By helping to meld RFID technology with the enterprise networking infrastructure and standards that are already in place, Reva defines RFID architecture for global growth and category leadership.

"Companies are now facing the next level of RFID scalability concerns that encompass network performance, manageability and remote site installations," said John Fontanella senior vice president and research director, supply chain services, at Aberdeen Group, citing a recent survey of global enterprises that are actively implementing RFID technology and moving to production deployments. "To satisfy real-world RFID challenges many companies are considering more robust architectures that incorporate RFID network infrastructure."
