First Time Game Developer Risks It All in Quest to Create the World's Largest MMO Game; Reality-Based Video Series to Premier on Games.net

OAKLAND, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- June 16, 2006 -- IDG Entertainment (IDGE), the world's leading interactive entertainment-information provider, today announced the launch of an original, unscripted, reality-based video series called Creating Kaos. The first episode will go live on www.Games.Net today.

The San Francisco-based documentary follows the struggles and triumphs of Damon Grow, CEO of Shattered Reality Interactive, Inc. -- a 40-person, all-volunteer game development company -- and his fanatical dedication to building the world's best massively multiplayer online game (MMOG) and, in the process, unseating the mega-popular World of Warcraft(R) (Blizzard Entertainment(R)).

"There's a 1 in 100,000,000 chance you can beat World of Warcraft," said John Romero, legendary designer of the Quake and Doom series, and on-camera commentator in the Creating Kaos series. "And if you've never designed a game before, no chance."

However, despite losing his part-time job and his relationship with his wife and child in the process, the video series captures some significant successes in Damon's quest, including news of a promising meeting with a major game developer in the Bay Area.

"There's humor, real drama, and some amount of insanity," said Wendy Chan, series director and video producer for IDG Entertainment. "But throughout it all, you can't help being touched by Damon's commitment and unwavering optimism."

A new 3-5 minute episode will be posted on Games.Net every Friday. There are a total of 5 episodes already filmed and another 15 in production.

Creating Kaos is part of IDG Entertainment's robust schedule of original video content specifically developed for the avid gaming enthusiasts who visit its online network, which includes these popular programs:
