Telco Systems Launches Access500 Family of VoIP Integrated Access Devices for Small and Medium Businesses; Solution Eases VoIP Migration Using SIP, Allows for Hybrid of Legacy Voice Customer Equipment and IP Networks

CHICAGO --(Business Wire)-- June 5, 2006 -- Telco Systems today introduced Access500, a compact and cost-effective family of voice over IP integrated access devices (VoIP IAD) for small and medium businesses. The SIP-enabled solution breaks down the traditional barriers of voice or data-only, TDM or IP-only networks, providing a seamless integration of legacy equipment in a single device. At GLOBALCOMM Booth #47079, the company will have Access500 on display.

The Access500 enables service providers to deliver a seamless VoIP migration to small and medium enterprises (SME) by integrating existing legacy equipment including PBXs, key systems, fax, modems and analog phones into a carrier's converged services core. The Access500 takes digital PBX connectivity, FXS analog lines for POTS/fax/modem connections, and maps them to the company's proven SIP engine that is interoperable with a broad range of softswitches including feature servers, application servers, trunk gateways, and session border controllers. The need for truck rolls is avoidable due to Access500's remote services activation, opening new revenue streams.

All models provide the following standard features: two DS1s, three 10/100TX Ethernet ports, and one SFP optical Ethernet wide area network (WAN). In addition, the various models support the following additional features:

-- Access505 1 PRI + 4 FXS

-- Access512 12 FXS

-- Access524 24 FXS

"Telco Systems has been very successful in enabling a straightforward and logical VoIP migration for residential customers, and we look forward to serving the needs of small and medium businesses," said Dave Lee Vice President of Marketing and Services of Telco Systems. "Access500 offers an extremely cost-effective, 'pizza box' style device that eases VoIP transition without fork-lifting customers' existing voice equipment or eliminating analog fax lines that are essential to their day-to-day operations."

Access500's flexible uplink options include DS1 and 10/100BaseT Ethernet. A small-form factor (SFP) allows its 100BaseFX transceiver port for optical Ethernet fiber-to-the-business (FTTB) connectivity. Customer interfaces are 10/100BaseT to the local area network (LAN), FXS analog interfaces, and PRI/CAS PBX.

At GLOBALCOMM Booth #47079, Telco Systems will be running a live metro Ethernet access ring supporting MPLS/HVPS, residential VoIP, intelligent demarcation, and FTTx.
