Even the arrival of colour television pales in comparison. We will be able to see our television stars warts and all - literally. People and objects look as they do in real life, maybe with better clarity than when seen with the naked eye. Sadly, for a while at least, viewers will focus on how people look rather than on what they say and those who appear on screen will become more obsessed with physical perfection. When talkies came along, some stars lost their lustre because their voices did not fit their faces. Now, some stars' careers will flounder because their faces are not beautiful enough.
