NetQoS CEO Joel Trammell Named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Award Finalist

AUSTIN, Texas --(Business Wire)-- May 23, 2006 -- NetQoS(R) Inc. co-founder and CEO Joel Trammell has been named a finalist for the 2006 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year(R) Award in the Austin region. According to Ernst & Young, the awards program was designed to recognize outstanding entrepreneurs on a regional, national and global level who are building and leading dynamic and growing businesses. Award winners will be announced at a special 20th anniversary gala event on Thursday, June 1, at the Renaissance Austin Hotel.

NetQoS provides network performance management software and services to help large organizations improve the delivery of applications across the network infrastructure. Since co-founding NetQoS in 1999, Trammell -- the Austin Business Journal's 2005 Private Company Executive of the Year -- has led the company to become one of the fastest growing private companies in the U.S., with a rapidly growing list of more than 400 blue-chip customers and an annual revenue growth rate of nearly 100 percent since 2002.

Under Trammell's leadership, NetQoS rose to number 31 on the 2005 Deloitte Fast 500 list of the fastest growing technology companies in North America for its 8,919 percent revenue growth rate over five years. Also in 2005, NetQoS was named to the Red Herring list of top 100 private companies in North America and ranked number 43 on the Inc. 500 list of the nation's fastest growing private companies.

"Recognition as an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year finalist is a testament to Joel's entrepreneurial drive and leadership skills in building a company that is leading its industry in terms of technology and growth," said Thomas Greig, managing director, Liberty Partners, a New York-based private equity investment firm and NetQoS investor. "Joel recognized early on the need for enterprises to focus on network performance management -- not just fault management -- to ensure optimal application delivery across the wide area network. With Joel at the helm, NetQoS is helping many of the world's largest organizations optimize their network infrastructure to deliver consistently high service quality to end users and contain infrastructure costs."

Trammell's entrepreneurial endeavors began as president and CEO of Austin-based UST Computers, a provider of computer hardware and network services, and as co-founder of HomeSmart, a provider of sales and marketing products for the residential construction industry. Trammell began his career as an officer and instructor/division director at the U.S. Navy's prestigious Naval Nuclear Power School, instructing more than 400 naval officers in thermal sciences and nuclear reactor plant systems.

The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year awards program celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. Awards are given to entrepreneurs who have demonstrated excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance, and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. Regional award winners are eligible for consideration for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2006 national program.
