W3C Work Featured at WWW2006 in Edinburgh; W3C Members and Staff to Present a Wide Range of Web Infrastructure Foundations and Interactive Web Standards

http://www.w3.org/ --(Business Wire)-- May 23, 2006 -- The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) presents its recent achievements and future work plans this week at the WWW2006 conference, which takes place at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre in Edinburgh, Scotland, UK.

The W3C Track, a regular feature of the IW3C2 conference series, gives attendees the opportunity to meet with W3C technical staff and Working Group Chairs, as well as learn about the latest developments in Web technologies.

Consistent with the themes of the conference programme, the W3C Track includes sessions that show the applicability of Web Standards to the worlds of media, health sciences, and international commerce, as well as the opportunities presented by the next wave of Internet and Web technical development.

Attendees can expect many useful sessions with W3C experts on specific topics such as accessibility, security and the browser, Semantic Web applications, SVG graphics, compound document formats and styling, and the host of work advancing in W3C's Mobile Web Initiative. The full track schedule includes updates on the Web Services infrastructure and the newest XML tools.

Over 25 presentations and panels are available during the W3C Track, which runs from 24 to 26 May 2006. W3C invites conference delegates to meet some of the W3C staff and Membership and to participate in discussions.
