Percussion Software Actively Supports New iECM Industry Consortium Under AIIM Auspices

WOBURN, MA - May 22, 2006 - Percussion® Software, a leading developer of practical software solutions enabling customers to maximize the value and quality of enterprise content, today announced its active support of and
membership in the new Interoperable Enterprise Content Management (iECM) Consortium organized under the auspices of AIIM, the enterprise content management standards developer. AIIM recently announced the creation of the iECM Consortium based on the work of individuals from over 50 major companies and government agencies. Based on work done over the past year, the formation of the iECM Consortium provides the foundation for the development of the standards needed for the creation of interoperable ECM systems.

Percussion is playing an active role in the development of the iECM standard and has committed that its Rhythmyx Enterprise Content Management System will support iECM standards as they become available, according to Vernon
Imrich, Percussion CTO and an active contributor to iECM.

Commented Imrich, "Support for industry standards has always been a key component of our strategy at Percussion. We enthusiastically support the work of the iECM Consortium, because for the first time, all ECM vendors are recognizing that the real challenge for enterprise content going forward is the fundamental need for many different content systems to work together. Interoperability is the #1 requirement for user organizations, whether commercial, government, academic or non-profit. Enterprises big and small alike need interoperability of content because for most of them, the notion that all content should be consolidated under one system is simply impractical."

Corporations, government agencies, individuals and other organizations who are interested in joining the iECM Consortium can find information at http://www.aiim.org/standards.asp?ID=29284 and may register for membership by contacting Betsy Fanning at [email protected]. Member organizations will have the opportunity to influence the iECM direction and will be able to synchronize their ECM plans and activities with the evolving iECM standards. Vendors, integration contractors, and users will have a head start in developing the interoperable ECM products, services, and applications that will result in tailored interoperable environments for their missions and businesses. Members obtain the rights to Consortium information and the ability to place qualified individuals into Consortium management and
working group activities.
