MySpace and NYLON Magazine Announce Revolutionary Online/Offline Digital Integration; Partnership Allows Readers to Interact With the Magazine on MySpace and Download Entire Issue Prior to Newsstand Distribution

LOS ANGELES --(Business Wire)-- May 22, 2006 -- NYLON Magazine and MySpace.com, the leading lifestyle portal for connecting with friends and discovering popular culture online, have teamed to bring the magazine online in an unprecedented media fusion. For the first time in the publication's history, the magazine's 7th annual NYLON "Music Issue" enhances interaction with readers by incorporating the MySpace profiles of feature and layout subjects throughout every article and department section of the magazine.

With a reputation for providing its reader base with a fresh, progressive approach to fashion, beauty and music, NYLON consistently features emerging artists and unique talent before they hit the mainstream. The "Music Issue" will highlight MySpace's authority in the music industry and effect on popular culture by giving readers a hefty dose of MySpace Music via print, audio and video. The issue will offer MySpace URL addresses and references to profiles of chart-topping artists, unsigned bands and music industry influencers featured in the magazine.

"Our collaboration has blurred the boundaries between print and new media," stated Marvin Scott Jarrett, NYLON's Editor-in-Chief and Co-Founder. "We have created something very special and new. You can literally listen to the issue online."

For this special double issue, NYLON will turn the focus of each regular monthly section to the music industry with:

-- MySpace music directories including featured artists, fan clubs and groups

-- Q&A with popular bands such as Gnarls Barkley and Panic! At the Disco

-- Lyrics and MySpace URLs to listen to songs created especially for the partnership

-- Portrait stories of bands, casting agents, models and fashion designers

-- Map of MySpace sponsored summer events

-- DIY guide to creating a vivid MySpace profile

"This is a natural partnership for MySpace and the intersection of music, fashion and popular culture that takes place in our community," stated Shawn Gold, SVP of Marketing for MySpace. "Through NYLON, we're able to creatively innovate in the print medium and recognize the members of MySpace music for the contribution they make to our culture."

Additionally, NYLON's MySpace profile, www.myspace.com/nylonmagazine, will complement the issue with exclusive content and interactive features for readers and MySpace members. Featured content will include special musical tracks, sound bites from band interviews such as Franz Ferdinand and Jack White, as well as photos from the special issue. The magazine's profile will also include a special, one-time subscription opportunity for MySpace members, as well as a link to digitally download the entire music issue, for free, a full week before the magazine hits newsstands.
