Filer Mutual Telephone Company Improves Performance and Quality of Triple Play Services by Deploying Pannaway's Customer-proven IP Access System
PORTSMOUTH, N.H. --(Business Wire)-- May 9, 2006 --
Innovative Broadband Services Company Poised to Lead the Way With Converged IP TV, Primary Line VoIP(SM) and High-speed Data Service Delivery in Central Idaho
Pannaway Technologies, Inc., designers and developers of next-generation, converged IP broadband systems to telecommunications companies, today announced that Filer Mutual Telephone Company in Filer, Idaho, has deployed its multi award-winning Service Convergence Network (SCN(TM)) solution to improve Triple Play performance and enhance IP TV picture quality. Filer Mutual is migrating its legacy ATM and TDM infrastructure to a common IP and Ethernet network that delivers the technology flexibility and bandwidth scalability capable of supporting emerging communications and entertainment services for years to come.
"Since we've begun to deploy Pannaway's IP access equipment in our central office (CO) and remote terminals (RT), we've seen a significant improvement in the performance and quality of our Triple Play services, especially our IP TV service", said Mark Alexander, Central Office Technician at Filer Mutual Telephone Company. "Our goal is to provide our rural subscribers with a robust suite of cutting-edge services that are traditionally only available in major metropolitan areas and thanks to Pannaway we're well on our way to accomplishing this goal."
Filer Mutual evaluated numerous access providers before selecting Pannaway as the engine for its newly enhanced Triple Play broadband network. As the industry's only next-generation IP, Ethernet and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)-based access platform capable of delivering converged IP TV, high-speed Internet and Primary Line VoIP(SM) with guaranteed lifeline calling and E 911 service capability, all on a per port basis, Pannaway was the clear choice for the Idaho ILEC.
Alexander adds, "The one thing that impressed us the most about the Pannaway system was that it deployed effortlessly and worked flawlessly right out of the box - as advertised."
Filer Mutual is also using Pannaway's industry-acclaimed Broadband Access Manager (BAM(TM)) which enables the ILEC to remotely manage and provision all SCN network equipment and subscriber services from a single easy-to-use graphical user interface (GUI). BAM's automated capabilities are proven to simplify broadband deployment and reduce ongoing support costs for ILECs.
"We continue to develop new ways for improving the ease-of-deployment and overall scalability of our SCN solution", said Kevin Brown, Vice President of Marketing at Pannaway. "We're proud that these enhancements are instrumental to companies like Filer Mutual as they transform their legacy systems to state-of-the-art networks capable of supporting next-generation broadband services."
