China's Crude Oil Production Growth Declined in Q1


(SinoCast Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)BEIJING, Apr 28, 2006 (SinoCast via COMTEX) --China witnessed a declining growth on its crude oil production in the first quarter of this year, and the production volume of product oil, such as coal oil and fuel, also went down, while the production of natural gas accelerated during the period.



The country's crude oil production stood at 45.446 million tons in the first quarter, rising 1.7% year on year but down 3.3% compared with the growth of the same quarter of the previous year, statistics show.

And the production volume of product oil went up 4.7% year on year to 44.632 million tons, in which the volume of gasoline and diesel oil went up 3.1% and 6.1% respectively to 13.969 million tons and 28.142 million tons, but the volume of coal oil fell 8.2% to 2.328 million tons.


Comparably, the production of natural gas increased 31.3% year on year to 15.92 billion cubic meters in the first quarter, 13.9% higher than the growth of the same quarter of a year ago.
