Iran describes Israel as terrorist state following call to assassinate Ahmadinejad

(Al Bawaba Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)Iran said on Sunday a call published in Israel's Haaretz newspaper on assassination of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad showed its "terrorist nature." Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid-Reza Asefi stated "Prior to Iran, the UN Security Council and the international community should give response to Israeli state terrorism." He urged the international community and international organizations not to keep silent at public threat of Israel to assassinate Iranian president. "It was not surprising for us since we've got acquainted with terrorist nature of the Zionist regime. The state terrorism of the Zionist regime is crystal clear to Iran.

"It is regrettable that European countries, the United States, the United Nations and Security Council paid no attention to such state terrorism.

"This case further discloses nature and identity of the Zionist regime's state terrorism against officials and freedom-seeking figures of regional states. "The international organizations should respond why they kept silent at Israeli terrorist threat against Iran while the international community has mobilized all its forces for campaign against terrorism." According to IRNA, the spokesman said, "The terrorist threat added another dark page to the case of the Zionist regime." 2006 Al Bawaba (www.albawaba.com)
