[April 22, 2006] BPO UNIT TO BET ON TRANSACTION BIZ (is looking at adding customers in the transaction processing segment) Tweet (India Business Insight Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)The business process outsourcing (BPO) arm of Wipro recorded 17 percent growth in revenues at Rs762.70 crore in 2005-2006 (Rs652.30 crore in 2004-2005). During Jan-Mar 2006 Wipro BPO recorded 16 percent growth in revenues at Rs209.10 crore (Rs180 crore during Jan-Mar 2005). The revenue per employee has risen from $1,600 in Jun 2005 to $1,850 currently. Wipro BPO expects to move to transaction processing, which includes the combination of both voice and non-voice.
