Arrow Electronics Enables OEMs to Check RoHS Compliancy at No Cost through ArrowNAC.com
MELVILLE, N.Y. --(Business Wire)-- April 20, 2006 -- The North American Components (NAC) group of Arrow Electronics, Inc. (NYSE: ARW) announced today it has added a new feature to the search tool on www.arrownac.com that enables visitors to quickly find Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) compliance status on parts in Arrow's extensive inventory free of charge. Site visitors simply enter a product number into the site's search function and the returned results indicate whether the part in stock is RoHS-compliant.
Arrow is the largest distributor in the world that currently provides this information to its customers - and the industry at large - free of charge on its website. The compliance status reported on www.arrownac.com is a reflection of the parts currently held in inventory.
"We are continually looking for ways to facilitate the access of RoHS information to our customers, because determining the RoHS compliancy of each component in a product can be a time-consuming task," said Darr Greenhalgh, director, Supply Chain Solutions, Arrow NAC. "Options for our customers who need to determine compliance range from analyzing supplier sites, interfacing with sales reps, or simply purchasing the information.
