KPO to build Karachaganak-Aksai-Uralsk gas pipeline


(Interfax News Agency Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)ASTANA. April 17 (Interfax-Kazakhstan) - The Karachaganak Petroleum Operating (KPO) consortium plans to build the socially-significant 150-km Karachaganak-Aksai-Uralsk gas pipeline, BG Kazakhstan President Lewis Affleck told Interfax-Kazakhstan.



KPO is developing the Karachaganak oil and condensate field from which the pipeline will be built. BG is a participant in the consortium.

"The end of tender and commercial negotiations for the construction of the Karachaganak-Aksai-Uralsk gas pipeline is planned for mid-2006, and the consortium plans to build it in 2007," Affleck said.


He was unable to state the cost of the project, and said that it would not be established until the end of the tender process. rd
