8x8 Announces Two Appointments to Management Team


SANTA CLARA, Calif., April 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- 8x8, Inc. , the Packet8 broadband Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and videophone communications service provider today announced the appointment of two executives to its management team.
Effective immediately, Dan Weirich and Ramprakash Narayanaswamy assume the roles of Vice President of Operations and Vice President of Engineering, respectively.
Formerly Director of Strategic Sales at 8x8, Dan Weirich steps in as Vice President of Operations, overseeing day to day Packet8 and Virtual Office service delivery as well as sales and billing operations. Prior to 8x8, he served as a business development, finance and operations consultant in the United States and Asia, managing acquisition and restructuring initiatives for a number of IT and telecommunications firms. As Vice President of Business Development and Vice President of Sales, Asia at iAsia Works, Inc., Weirich engineered a re-start of the company and expanded it into a provider of Internet access, co-location and managed services across Asia, growing the company's operations to thirteen countries and annualized revenues to $40 million. Weirich also served as Acquisition Integration Manager for Business Markets at Qwest Communications International, Inc. and Financial Analyst for Phoenix Network, Inc.
Formerly Director, Software Architecture & Engineering at 8x8, Ramprakash Narayanaswamy assumes the role of Vice President of Engineering responsible for all engineering operations. Narayanaswamy brings more than 15 years experience in the software industry to 8x8, and previous positions included Enterprise Software Architect at Nextance Inc., Director, Tools Architecture and Development at Bluelight.com and Senior Software Engineer at Sun Microsystems Inc. Prior to that, he held various software engineer positions with companies in the U.S. and India. Narayanaswamy's talent and expertise has been recognized numerous times throughout his career, including recipient of the "Best Engineer Award" at Sun Microsystems, "Engineering Masterpiece Award" at Bluelight.com and "Eagle Award" at Nextance Inc.
