Merck & Co. Recruits Marketing Talents for Expansion in China(SinoCast Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)SHANGHAI, Apr 12, 2006 (SinoCast via COMTEX) --The world's noted pharmaceutical company Merck & Co., Inc. is recruiting marketing talents in China for sales of its four key products. The employees will be divided into four groups to sell the products for curing cardiovascular diseases, respiratory diseases, bone diseases, and anti-infective product. The marketing personnel hired by the company this year will help doctors obtain more information about the related products and technologies through professional product promotions and academic communication so as to further expand the pharmaceutical market, according to officials from Merck & Co., Inc. (China). The drug producer has launched 17 products in the Chinese market, and most of them are produced and packed in Hangzhou plant. In view of strong sales and lower costs of the blood lipid reducing drug simvastatin, the most competitive product, the company's earnings per share of the first quarter this year is expected to be higher than the earlier estimates.
