PLX Technology Further Expands Asia-Pacific Presence With New Taiwan Subsidiary; I/O Interconnect Leader Adds Third Dedicated Office to Region
SUNNYVALE, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- April 4, 2006 -- PLX Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq:PLXT), the leading supplier of PCI Express(TM) (PCIe) and other standard input/output (I/O) interconnect silicon to the communications, server, storage, embedded-control, and consumer industries, today announced the formation of PLX Technology Taiwan. Located in the Neihu District of Taipei, PLX Technology Taiwan is PLX's third wholly owned subsidiary in the Asia-Pacific region, established to extend the company's presence to Taiwan while providing PLX(R) customers there with locally focused sales, support and applications expertise.
The official opening of PLX Technology Taiwan will take place at the facility on April 4. This event will feature a welcoming ceremony and presentation by Mr. Michael Salameh, PLX founder, president and chief executive officer.
PLX is well-established in the Asia-Pacific region, with subsidiaries in Japan and China, and an extensive roster of customers for its PCI, PCI-X, PCIe, and USB interconnect technology. Those customers span the embedded-systems, industrial-control, security, and telecommunications markets. PLX also is represented by leading distributors in Taiwan: Metatech (AP), Answer Technology and SemiconductorStore.com.
Continued Growth Expected in Region
PLX Technology Taiwan is expected to add to PLX's continued growth in the Asia-Pacific region, in which the company's revenues grew to more than $28 million in 2005.

The new subsidiary will be lead by Marx Li, Taiwan country manager. Li brings to PLX Technology Taiwan more than 18 years of engineering and sales experience in Taiwan and Southeast Asia. He most recently served as vice president of sales at Metatech. Prior to that position, he held senior management positions with Western Digital, S3 and Leadtek.
