Reserve Bank says changes to NZ's coins will be for the better; website launched to explain new coins

(IRN News Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)The Reserve Bank is promising changes to New Zealand's coins will be a change for the better.

On July 31 the 50, 20 and 10 cent coins will be replaced with smaller and lighter coins. The five cent piece will be phased out. All the coins will retain the same design, but the ten cent piece will be copper-coloured. The transition period will take three months.

A website has been launched to explain the changes. It is: www.newcoins.co.nz.
