Livedoor chief Hiramatsu's appointment as Cecile director approved(Kyodo News International (Tokyo) (KRT) Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge) Mar. 30--TAKAMATSU -- Shareholders of online marketer Cecile Co. passed a motion Thursday appointing Livedoor Co. President Kozo Hiramatsu and two other Livedoor executives as board directors. The appointments are designed to cement ties between Livedoor and Cecile as Livedoor Marketing Co., Cecile's parent company, is studying a plan to sell its holdings of Cecile shares to Livedoor. The other two directors approved by the general meeting of shareholders are Livedoor Senior Vice President Yukihiro Shimizu and Vice President Noritaka Ochiai. The meeting, the first shareholders' meeting held by a listed Livedoor group company since the arrest in January of Livedoor founder Takafumi Horie and other executives on charges of accounting fraud, was attended by 72 shareholders. Cecile managers said at the meeting that the company expects to benefit from Livedoor's business expertise in its online retail operations. |
