Latin Television, Inc. Partners with GlobeCast for U.S. Re-Launch of Spanish-Language Television Network; Leading Satellite Services Provider to Supply Network Origination, Production and Satellite Delivery Services for New LTV
CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. --(Business Wire)-- March 22, 2006 -- Latin Television, Inc., a Spanish-language media company whose goal is to establish its LTV brand as one of the largest Spanish-language television networks in the United States, today announced the company has reached an agreement with GlobeCast, the world's leading satellite services company.
Under the agreement, GlobeCast will immediately begin supplying Latin Television, Inc. with program origination, satellite uplink and capacity on GlobeCast's digital platform on AMC-1. GlobeCast's digital platform on AMC-1 reaches approximately 48.5 million households through cable and TVRO subscribers across the U.S., Canada, Caribbean, and Central America.
Latin Television, Inc. intends to change the way young Hispanic Americans perceive Latin television through a combination of fresh and innovative Spanish-language original programming, movies, sports, news, and entertainment programming aimed at the underserved 18-to-39 year-old U.S. Hispanic marketplace.

LTV expects to produce a variety of original productions from its studios in Coral Springs, Florida, including a daily news program and daily sports news program from a new, custom-designed set. LTV's network origination is being managed by GlobeCast at its Digital Broadcast Center in Miami. Services include 24/7 master control, digital tape and server playback, satellite uplink and digital satellite space on AMC-1, as well as downlink of LTV programming content.
