NBC's Jay Ireland to Keynote Kagan's Radio/TV Values & Finance SummitMONTEREY, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- March 20, 2006 -- Kagan Research has announced the schedule and roster of speakers for its RADIO/TV '06 VALUES & FINANCE SUMMIT, to be held on Thursday, March 23, 2006, at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York City. Jay Ireland, who will be a featured speaker at the event, believes TV stations have little choice but to jump on the new media bandwagon and "harness" rival media as best they can to develop new business lines. Ireland's keynote comes on the heels of NBC's broadcast of the winter Olympics. NBCOlympics.com drew a hefty 15.1 mil. unique viewers who rolled up 361 mil. page views. Besides audience muscle, the Website demonstrated the vast scalability for video content. In a two-week period, NBC crammed 9.1 mil. video steams amounting to over 125,000 hours of programming on NBCOlympics.com. Ireland says NBC stations have the infrastructure in place to reinvent the concept of metropolitan-area Websites by having viewers contribute video using portable video devices, which will augment Web content from NBC's professionals. "We need to be interactive with the ability to bring viewers or users into the product rather than simply bringing the product to them," he says. "I think that this will bring real value to the consumers." The one-day conference will provide the latest outlook on the future of the broadcast industry, new technology for television and radio stations, deals, values, revenues, competition, and finance across the broadcast spectrum. Other conference speakers include dozens of leading executives from across the media, communications and entertainment sectors. -- Special Presentation -- Robert J.
