CA and Other Software Leaders Join the Itanium Solutions Alliance; Alliance Members Showcase Breadth of Itanium Solutions at CeBIT

HANNOVER, Germany --(Business Wire)-- March 14, 2006 -- The Itanium Solutions Alliance announced that CA and other leading software vendors including Acucorp, Inc., Cristalink, Portlock, Power Leader and S7 Software Solutions have joined the organization. The Alliance was formed by industry leaders to boost availability of Itanium solutions through delivery of a suite of enabling programs targeted at enterprise and technical computing developers.

CA, one of the world's largest information technology (IT) management software companies, helps customers improve business performance by unifying and simplifying the management of their enterprise IT environments.

"CA and other leading software vendors demonstrate the growing industry momentum to support Itanium by joining the Alliance," said Jens-Peter Seick, vice president enterprise server business, Fujitsu Siemens Computers. "Customer demand helped to double the number of Itanium deployments recently. With thousands of software vendors and dozens of OEMs shipping Itanium software and systems, the Itanium ecosystem has never been larger."

"CA believes Itanium systems will play a significant role in computing for years to come," said Laura McCluer, vice president of strategic alliances at CA. "Our participation in the ISA reflects our commitment to ensuring that Itanium users are able to get maximum business value from these system investments."

Developer support is a focus for the Alliance, which hosts Alliance Developer Days, events organized to provide developers training and technical assistance from industry experts along with free and discounted tools and hardware. Developers can also access the Alliance's Solution Center Network, a global network of work centers where developers receive hands-on support.

As a one-stop resource for Itanium solutions, the Alliance also recently launched an Itanium Solutions Catalog, a searchable listing of Itanium applications available so that customers can find the solution to match their needs. The Solutions Catalog currently has more than 2000 application listings. Vendors submit applications for inclusion though an application submission tool on the Alliance Website.

Membership to the Alliance is open to any enterprise and technical software supplier looking to optimize applications for Itanium environments or enterprise and technical computing providers looking to network with other leaders in delivery of leading computing solutions. More information about the Alliance and membership can be found at www.itaniumsolutionsalliance.org.
