Airspan deploys STP platform for Protel

(BNamericas.com Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)US wireless infrastructure supplier Airspan Networks (Nasdaq: AIRN) has deployed an STP communication platform for Mexican VoIP provider Protel using a solution developed by Performance Technologies (Nasdaq: PTIX), the manufacturer said in a statement.

Performance Technologies' Segway 6300 Compact-STP is a carrier-grade, redundant system designed to bridge SS7 networks by supporting both IP-based and circuit-switched SS7 signaling, the company said.

The solution is designed for carriers looking to minimize leasing costs and port charges without a significant capital investment, the statement read.

Protel offers multi-service data and voice solutions to enterprise customers and carriers throughout Mexico, including: VoIP; IP Centrex services; and local and long distance voice services.

Part of Protel's VoIP network is the Airspan As.Tone VoIP system. Airspan provides fixed and wireless voice and data systems and solutions, including VoIP to serve operators in both licensed and unlicensed frequency bands between 700MHz and 6GHz, including both PCS and 3.5GHz international bands.
