Wolters Kluwer Health Introduces Price Rx(TM) Drug Price and Reference Tool; Web-based Program Increases Access, Flexibility and Information Quality for Healthcare Professionals
CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. --(Business Wire)-- March 13, 2006 -- Wolters Kluwer Health, the leading drug and health information provider, today announced the introduction of Price Rx(TM), the professional's first choice for comprehensive, easy-to-use drug price analysis and reference information. Price Rx(TM) is a web-based software application that delivers quick and simple access to Medi-Span's Master Drug Database (MDDB(R)) for pricing and product information, with powerful analytical, formulary, and reporting tools.
Price Rx(TM) provides enhanced technology for greater efficiency and productivity with daily pricing and product information updates and flexible access via a secure Internet connection. The web-based application enables customers to eliminate IT support costs and application maintenance. Users can also search for products by manufacturer, NDC, trade and generic name, and by Medi-Span's generic product identifier (GPI) therapeutic classification system.
Additionally, users can evaluate current as well as up to 10 historical prices based on AWP, DP, CMS FUL, and WAC, and Medi-Span's proprietary Average, Average Wholesale Price (AAWP) and Generic Equivalent Average Price (GEAP).

Additionally, it generates complete reports of generic and therapeutic equivalent products, constructs and maintains multiple formulary lists and creates complete price history, changes and analysis reports for an individual product or subsets of products.
Users can also quickly export pricing and product data directly to Microsoft Excel(R) or other database programs and generate Adobe(R) PDF documents for printing and sharing pricing analysis and information reports.
A quick reference version of Price Rx(TM) is also available - Price Rx(TM) Select. This web-based application delivers quick and simple access to Medi-Span's comprehensive pricing and product reference information, providing the power of Price Rx in an easy-to-use and cost-effective solution.
