Plantronics Intros HeadsetsTMCnet Contributing Editor Headset manufacturer Plantronics Inc. announced on Thursday that it introduced a suite of wireless office headsets comprised of the CS70 Wireless Office Headset System for executives, the SupraPlus Wireless Headset System for phone-intensive users, and the Plantronics Voyager 510SL Bluetooth Headset System with WindSmart for mobile professionals.

The CS70 Wireless Office Headset System has a manufacturer's suggested retail price of US $399.95 and will be available in April online and through Plantronics' authorized resellers.
Based on Plantronics' leading SupraPlus corded headset, the new SupraPlus Wireless System is a good option for contact center supervisors, IT helpdesk professionals and others that spend a long time on the phone. The SupraPlus Wireless System allows these users to go wireless during their work day. SupraPlus Wireless provides up to 10 hours of talk time and harnesses DECT 6.0 technology to provide better audio quality and digital security during conversations. The SupraPlus Wireless Professional Headset System comes in multiple wearing styles and has a manufacturer's suggested retail price of US $399.95. It is currently available through Plantronics' authorized resellers.
The new Plantronics Voyager 510SL Bluetooth Headset System with WindSmart seems to be a good option for users that are constantly juggling cell phone and office phone calls at the office. The device provides a single wireless headset to seamlessly switch between office phones and Bluetooth mobile phones. The Voyager 510 is a Bluetooth headset that includes both a noise-canceling microphone and wind-reduction technology for better sound in windy environments. The headset features a multipoint technology for switching between multiple devices. The feature automatically detects which device a person is using, allowing them to take calls from either device with the touch of a button. The Voyager 510SL Bluetooth Headset System has a manufacturer's suggested retail price of US $379.95 and is available through Plantronics' authorized resellers.
In related news, Plantronics today introduced the .Audio 340, .Audio 510 and .Audio 550, a set of PC headsets developed for gaming, podcasts, Internet telephony, and multimedia.
The Plantronics .Audio 340 features a pressure-free, behind-the-head headband that rests above the neckline. The device also features a noise-canceling microphone to enhance speech recognition, while the QuickAdjust telescoping, pivoting boom ensures correct microphone placement. The .Audio 340 is compatible with popular Internet chat and Internet telephony services from companies such as AOL, MSN, Skype (News - Alert) and Yahoo!, among others. The .Audio 340 has an estimated street price of $24.99.
The Plantronics .Audio 510 USB and .Audio 550 DSP offer a supple, lightweight design and 40mm speakers. The noise-canceling microphone cuts out background distractions and enhances speech recognition accuracy for chatting and recordings, such as podcasts. The .Audio 550 DSP features a digital signal processing chip for optimizing audio levels, and PerSono Audio Control Center Software. The .Audio 510 USB and .Audio 550 DSP have estimated street prices of $59.99 and $99.99, respectively.
The new .Audio products' prices range from $14.99 to $99.99, and will be available in April 2006 online, as well as in Best Buy, Circuit City, CompUSA, and Fry's.
