ROOT /Vaults ``Attention Banking Service'' Premieres at ETech 2006; First Application for Storing and Sharing Your Clickstream

SAN DIEGO --(Business Wire)-- March 8, 2006 -- /ROOT Markets announced the premiere of ROOT /Vaults, the first-ever application to store, manage and share personal clickstream data. The application was demonstrated for the first time at this year's O'Reilly Emerging Technology Conference (ETech).

A /Vault is a secure personal database for managing everything Web users browse online. By opening a /Vault, Web users can maintain a record of their attention by analyzing their clickstream and choosing to share their data in an exchange with other users. The first /Vaults application will focus on clickstream with additional functionality to be added in the future.

"ROOT /Vaults is predicated on the belief that consumers own their data," said /ROOT Markets Founder and CEO Seth Goldstein. "With so many companies collecting copies of your data each time you buy a book online or query a search engine, consumers can protect themselves by owning a copy of their valuable data. /Vaults is an important first step in gaining user control and understanding the value of our attention."

Users benefit from tools such as the ability to analyze their clickstream by the top visited sites, time spent online and trends including "gainers and losers." /Vaults also includes the capability to allow users to share and compare their data on a one-to-one basis with others they trust. A personalized dashboard allows them to customize the view of their clickstream data as they navigate the Web.

"The clickstream is one of the most important indicators of your attention, an expression of what makes you you," continued Goldstein. "And as we expand the functionalities of /Vaults, members will share their experiences and recommendations with others in the community. /ROOT Markets will also offer benefits such as personalized offers, discounts and rebates for consumers who choose to share their data with marketers."

Anyone may open a /Vault by signing up at www.root.net/vaults. /Vaults utilize an open source recorder available through AttentionTrust.org to allow users to collect and send their data to their personal account.

/ROOT Markets is compliant with AttentionTrust, a non-profit organization devoted to the principle that consumers own their attention and their interaction with the media, which Goldstein co-founded independently in July, 2005. Goldstein, a former Entrepreneur in Residence at Flatiron Partners, founded the interactive ad agency SiteSpecific in 1995 and created Majestic Research, an independent research firm providing specialized services to institutional investors, in 2002.
