For small call centers or customer service lines that need to record conversations to train their employees or use the recorded conversations to resolve disputes; there is now a new product available from Telrex called the CallRex Express. The VoIP call recording and monitoring software developer designed the product specifically for small companies to monitor up to 15 phones.

The product works for businesses using IP PBXs or hosted PBX services. It is priced very low at only $89 per phone. When a business grows beyond 15 phones, CallRex Express can be upgraded to CallRex Professional with an upgrade key code.

CallRex Express offers two kinds of licenses, an unlimited license for automatic, triggered call recordings, and an on-demand license for recording calls on an ad hoc basis. An on-demand license requires manual initiation of a recording and allows managers to spot-monitor any phone call. A manager can start a recording at any time in the conversation and still capture the entire conversation.

"Increasingly small businesses have the same regulatory and customer service needs of larger companies," said Robert Kapela, president of Telrex. "CallRex Express takes the complexity and cost out of call recording and provides a powerful tool to small businesses that have always needed call recording but have never been able to afford it. Call recording can now become a standard business practice."

Telrex integrated its CallRex call recording product with Covad Communications' vPBX voice services last month. The move will enable Covad to attract customers that require call recording for training purposes, dispute resolution, or regulatory compliance.

"We're excited to be the first call recording software solution to be offered by a hosted IP PBX service provider," said Telrex's Kapela. "We believe the hosted IP PBX market is set to explode and Telrex is well-positioned to help service providers like Covad take advantage of that growth by providing a scalable solution to any customer that requires call recording, whether for customer service, training or to comply with legal requirements."
