[February 23, 2006] Michelin Accuses Aeolus Tyre of Infringement Tweet (SinoCast Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)JIAOZUO, Feb 23, 2006 (SinoCast via COMTEX) --Michelin, the world's leading tire manufacturer, has filed a lawsuit to the Beijing Chaoyang Court to accuse Aeolus Tyre Co., Ltd. and its agent Best Choice International Trade Co., Ltd. of infringement. Michelin requires the court to adjudge that Aeolus Tyre ceases infringement immediately and make compensation of CNY 1 million for its losses. Aeolus Tyre, one of China's top ten national tire brands headquartered in Jiaozhuo City of central China's Henan Province, is sued to copy Michelin's three kinds of tires with special decorative pattern. Michelin Shenyang Tire Co., Ltd. said the company successively launched the three tires since 1999 and the special decorative pattern had become the main symbol for Chinese consumers to identify Michelin tires. Michelin Shenyang Tire said that Aeolus Tyre copied Michelin products without any authorization and the infringement would make a great impact on sales of Michelin. The lawyer of Aeolus Tyre denies infringement and says that the company has patent right of exterior design of the three tires.
