When It Comes To Coffee, The ``Buck'' Stops Here; The Ultimate Pick Me Up Doesn't Mean You Need To Drop A Load Of Cash
LOS ANGELES --(Business Wire)-- Feb. 13, 2006 -- What do you take in your morning coffee? Cream? Sugar? How about some spare change? It sounds almost too good to be true, but skipping a trip to the coffee shop and making your cup 'o Joe at home will give you exactly that. Coffee shops are a dime a dozen, with Starbucks being the most popular for both men and women (53% and 63%), according to a BizRate Research study of 1,187 online buyers conducted for leading comparison shopping search site Shopzilla (www.shopzilla.com). More than a third (38%) of those in a Shopzilla survey reported visiting coffee shops between 1-4 times a week, and 20% admitted to spending between $10 and $20 a week on caffeinated drinks. That's pouring away up to $1,040 a year!
For Java Junkies, There's No Place Like Home
Despite the coffee shop craze, a whopping 72% of respondents use a coffee maker at their place of residence because most people (53%) prefer regular coffee to espresso, lattes, cappuccinos, tea, soft drinks, and caffeinated water.
A smart move, considering that making coffee at home daily versus going to the coffee shop daily can save more than $500 a year.
Some Mimic The Coffee Shop Experience At Home
Men and women pay equal attention to the different varieties of coffee brands on the market at 62%, but women (32%) are more likely to buy coffee shop brands like Starbucks from the supermarket and make them at home than men (24%).
Be Your Own Barista
Making your own cup of coffee means saving time and money, but it can also be a ton of fun, especially since women are more likely to prefer lattes, cappuccinos and espresso over a plain cup of coffee. Many companies offer coffee makers and espresso machines with amazing features that give you a chance to be your own barista. Cuisinart, La Pavoni, and Krups are just some of the trusted brands available at www.shopzilla.com. From coffee makers that brew individual cups of coffee, to espresso machines that enable anyone to make their own cappuccinos, the possibilities are endless.
