1200 HARLEY DAVIDSON RIDERS HIT DUNEDIN


(New Zealand Press Association Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)Wellington, Feb 12 NZPA - About 1250 Harley Davidson motorbike riders thundered through Dunedin yesterday as part of a the 16th annual Hog Rally.

Harley Davidson dealer Jason Veitch told NZPA today the weekend rally in the city was attended by mostly New Zealand riders, but bikies from America, Europe and Thailand also joined the ride.

The rally that, started on Friday and finished today, included concerts, speeches and the ``Thunder Ride'' through the city, Mr Veitch said.

``It was fantastic -- half of Dunedin were out to watch it,'' he said.

Dunedin police said they had no trouble from the bikers over the weekend.

``They're the good kind of bikies,'' a police spokesman said.
