Marvell First to Ship Industry's Highest Performance WiFi Solution Compliantwith the IEEE 802.11n Draft Specification

SANTA CLARA, California, January 20 /PRNewswire/ --

- Enabling Tier One OEMs to be First to Ship IEEE 802.11n Draft
Compliant WLAN Products in Q106, Marvell Extends Technology and Market
Leadership in WLAN Space

Marvell(R), (Nasdaq: MRVL), the leader in storage, communications, and
consumer silicon solutions, and one of the founding members of the Enhanced
Wireless Consortium (EWC), is pleased to recognize the industry's efforts in
converging on a draft specification for the IEEE 802.11n standard. The
Marvell 88W836X family, first announced in October 2005, complies 100% with
the IEEE 802.11n draft specification. The acceptance of this draft
specification enables Marvell's key customers, who have been working with
Marvell 88W836X chipsets for several months, to launch products in Q106.

As the recognized leader in embedded consumer WLAN, Marvell has numerous
customers shipping game devices, cellular handsets, digital cameras, MP3
players, VoIP handsets and other consumer devices. The Marvell 88W836X family
ties together all the elements of the digital lifestyle by enabling consumers
to enjoy unprecedented levels of wireless performance and coverage demanded
by the next generation of integrated audio/video/data consumer appliances.

The Marvell 88W836X family leverages the Marvell Total System Solution
for the industry's highest TCP/IP and layer 3 throughput with special
optimizations for high reliability video and media transport. Today Marvell
is the recognized market leader, driving the adoption of consumer WLAN by
offering unique features such as a full suite of ease-of-use innovations and
special optimizations for power save modes.

As a founding member of the EWC, Marvell is driving the creation of
interoperable products for digital media distribution, mobile handsets,
retail and enterprise connectivity solutions. In a continued effort to drive
the standards process, Marvell will be hosting a series of plugfests and will
play a key role in launching the industry's first interoperability test-bed
for 802.11n products.

"Marvell is thrilled that this specification enables our customers to be
the first to ship IEEE 802.11n draft compliant WLAN products to the market,
said Weili Dai, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Communications
and Consumer Business Group. "We thank the IEEE Task Group "N" for their
outstanding work and effort in converging on a draft specification for the
IEEE 802.11n standard."
