[January 19, 2006] Passenger on flight arriving in Christchurch has fever sparking bird flu alert; patient checked and cleared Tweet (IRN News Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)There were lengthy delays for passengers at Christchurch International Airport last night due to a bird flu scare. A passenger on board a Pacific Blue flight from Australia was suffering a high fever. They had previously been in the Philippines. Jo Wedlock of Pacific Blue says the passenger alerted cabin crew who notified Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry staff. An ambulance met the plane and passengers were kept onboard for a time.
